Finding Your Creative Community

Finding a creative community isn’t always easy, but the National League of American Pen Women (NLAPW) offers a welcoming space where artists, writers, and composers can find inspiration, support, and collaboration.

When a Pen Woman meets someone who may be interested in growing within a like-minded, artistic organization, we’re always excited to extend the invitation.

Membership Process:
  • Prospective members are invited to attend a luncheon to meet our members and get a feel for our vibrant Sarasota Branch.

  • If interested in moving forward, they complete a membership application.

  • Applicants then attend a Sarasota Branch Board meeting to share their background and present samples of their work.

  • If approved by the Board, a sponsor is assigned (if one is not already selected).

  • The application package is reviewed by the Branch Membership Chair and sent to National Headquarters in Washington, D.C. for final approval.

  • Throughout the process, prospective members are welcome to continue attending meetings and events to further experience the community.

Membership Benefits:
  • A professional Google email address (yourname@sarasotapenwomen.org)

  • A profile on our Meet Our Members webpage

  • Opportunity to be a featured monthly exhibitor on our website

  • Creative collaboration with fellow members—including co-authored and illustrated works

We’re proud to offer a space where women in the arts can connect, create, and thrive together.
