Sylvia Anderson Price

1932 – 2019

​

An amazing woman. A remarkable life. Sylvia received her Bachelor of Science in
nursing from Ohio State, and Master of Public Health, and PhD in Higher Education
Administration from the University of Michigan. During her 30+ years of teaching, she published five nursing textbooks (available and sold internationally) and several journal articles. A Letters member of NLAPW, Sylvia was Sarasota FL Branch President, a two-term Treasurer, 2nd Vice President, and she was also President of the Florida State Association.

She donated the “Dr. Sylvia Anderson Price Writing Award” to the Sarasota Branch’s
annual Awards Program, to the FL State Conference’s Writing Awards, always in
memory of her late husband Joe. She was also a Commemorative Endowment Fund
donor on the National level.

She was a mentor, always there, helping those in pursuit of their dreams.
