In August 2018, Polly received her Pen Women in art membership.

Polly has the American post-impressionistic style created using pastels and oils with multi-media underpainting, sometimes. As Edgar Degas said, “Art is not what you see but what you make others see.”

She teaches classes at local art centers and other different venues. She also is with Art Without Boundaries via Mneme Therapy, which can improve the quality of life for Alzheimer’s, dementia, and autism patients, and any brain trauma/injury through art-based activity, i.e., painting by stimulating the brain synaptic development.

Polly is from central New York (Utica) and has lived in the Tampa Bay area, Parrish, near Bradenton, since 1995. She is self–taught, taking workshops or community classes where she can always be a student. Polly has won several awards, and her work has been exhibited at public facilities, galleries, art centers, and festivals. She has won several awards from Best of Show to honorable mentions locally and on website competitions.

Polly’s work can be seen on 2 websites, www.pollyspaintings.com and www.pollyspaintings.crevado.com .

“Dreams are like the paints of a great artist. Your dreams are your paints, the world is your canvas. Believing is the brush that converts your dreams into a masterpiece of reality.”

If you are a Sarasota Pen Woman and you would like to be our next featured artist, musician or writer, please submit your materials through our Register to Exhibit form.
