---The awards are based on competitions in Visual Arts, Letters (Writing) and Music.

 

---The competitions are open only to SENIORS (females and males) in all public high schools in Sarasota and Manatee counties.

 

---Awards range from $250 to $2,000!

 

---The purpose of the awards is to encourage self-expression, creativity and foster further interest or education in the arts.

 

---In addition to receiving an award, winning students will perform, read or exhibit their winning entries at the Awards luncheon will held at Bird Key Yacht Club on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 11:30 AM. Guests are also welcomed to attend with a lunch purchase.

 

---Additional opportunities will be afforded to the winners to display their artwork, have their writings in print and participate in musical performances as we help to “launch” our student’s future in the arts.

ENTRIES MUST BE ORIGINAL WORK SUBMITTED IN THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES:

 

ART:  Paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, mixed media, ink, graphics, stained glass, sculpture, ceramics, etching, lithographs, jewelry, digital art, photography, digitally enhanced photography and graphite/colored pencil.

     

 

LETTERS:  Fiction, non-fiction or poetry not to exceed 1500 words.  Letters entires must be received by Tuesday, March 2, 2021.

 

 

MUSIC:  Original student musical composition.  Music entires must be received by Tuesday, March 2, 2021.
